Terms of service

  1. Use of the Every Good Thing Website.

We may change anything on our website at any time, including suspending it for repairs and maintenance (but we will try not to).   We do not have responsibility for the content of websites that our own site links to.  We retain all copyright and other rights to our website design and content including all of its images.  You may view and print the web site as a potential purchaser, but you may not reproduce, distribute or re-use any material found on the site without my permission.

  1. Ordering goods

When you place an order with us it is an offer to buy those goods, and we are committed to supply those goods when we accept your order.

Goods may be subject to availability and we will tell you if we are out of stock or if there is a delay.

If we become aware, after you have placed your order, and before we deliver it, that there is a problem with your order (price, description, delivery) we will e-mail you to let you know.  At this stage we have not accepted the order.  If we don’t hear from you within 3 days we will cancel the order and refund it in full.

When we have received your payment and accepted your order (see above) there is then a binding contract. Once we have processed the order for delivery we will send you an e-mail telling that we have accepted you order. There is then a binding contract.

  1. Price

The price and delivery charges will be shown at the checkout and you may pay by card or PayPal.

  1. Delivery

Goods are sent via Royal Mail first class post.  All delivery times quoted are estimates only and we cannot guarantee delivery at any particular time or date although we will do our best to get your products to you as soon as possible. Orders are accepted 24/7, and will be dispatched once a week on Tuesdays. We only post out once a week, as logistically we are a very small business, this is the only way we can manage all deliveries. Click + Collect, and local delivery for BS1-BS8 is available.

5. Delivery and Risk

The goods are at your risk from the time of delivery, so please inspect them upon arrival and if refrigeration is specified please refrigerate. If the goods are delivered damaged or do not turn up, please email info @everygoodthing.co.uk within 3 days of delivery / expected delivery (see 4).  If you do not process the grains within the time window specified on the packet, we will not be able to offer a replacement if the product does not perform as expected.

  1. Warranty

We warrant that the goods comply in material respects with their description on our website and that they are free from material defects at the time of delivery.  The description of goods on our web site is for identification only. The goods may vary slightly from their description, of appearance, technical specification, dimensions, weight and performance.

The warranty is additional to your statutory rights.  If you believe that we have delivered goods which are defective in material or workmanship you must: inform us (in writing) with full details as soon as possible and allow us to investigate the matter.

If the goods are found to be defective in material or workmanship (following our investigation and you have complied with those conditions in clause 5) in full, we will (at our option) replace the goods or refund the price.

We are not liable for any other losses or damage (including indirect or consequential loss, financial loss, loss of profits, or loss of use) arising from the contract of the supply of goods or their use, even if we are negligent.

For all liabilities not referred to elsewhere in these terms our liability is limited in damages to the price of the goods.

  1. Cancellation

For non-perishable goods we will accept returns within 14 days.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept returns on perishable goods.

  1. Health Claims

We are not registered nutritionists dieticians or medical practitioners. Other than explaining that gut health is important and presenting some research from peer-reviewed scientific journals we do not make health claims about effects either positive or negative that the kefir/kombucha you make from our grains/SCOBYs could have upon you personally.   We do not know anything about the state of your health or that of your microbiota and cannot predict how your microbiota might react to the addition of fermented foods in your diet.  Kefir is made and consumed at your own risk.  The microbes in the kefir grains are as yet unidentified (in progress), however they have been tested by a registered laboratory to ensure that they do not contain any known pathogenic microbes.  This testing is carried out on an occasional basis. Instructions are provided to ensure that you have all the information you need to help you safely make and manage your own cultures.
