    How is this for dedication to all your gut health How is this for dedication to all your gut health needs?  Last night I spent 1 3/4 hours sitting in the teeming ( I’m being polite obvs)  rain in the darkness waiting to click and collect these jars from IKEA. Do not go there people. Life is too short.  Little clip top jars £2.50 from the fermentary, perfect for fermenting a pint of milk keifr or as a home for your Sourdough Starter.
    Pretty it ain’t, but what with the fermentary an Pretty it ain’t, but what with the fermentary an’ all, it’s what I can muster most days.  Making breadmaker bread means I know exactly what’s in it even if it doesn’t have all the benefits of sourdough. Usually i use 2/3 @shiptonmill malt house flour, 1/3 white, and a slug of sourdough starter gets chucked in with the yeast and recently about 100 ml kefir too ( as suggested by @ali__riv .  I’m lucky if there’s any left when I get home.
    Grenadine water kefir - trying out some new flavou Grenadine water kefir - trying out some new flavours.  Did you know that grenadine syrup was traditionally made from pomegranates? That’s what I’ve done here - it bears zero resemblance to that fluorescent French ‘sirop’ of the same name! We liked it!
    beet kvass anyone? The last batch of Chioggia kva beet kvass anyone?  The last batch of Chioggia kvass was delicious, pink and fizzy so I’m making some more. Let’s hope it is reproducible!
